What's Opening On Sherman Oaks' Stretch Of Ventura Blvd This Year

New Restaurants Coming to Sherman Oaks' Ventura Blvd in 2026

Walk the mile between Hazeltine and Sepulveda on a Tuesday afternoon and the storefronts tell you something the marquee signs don't. The dinner-row identity that Sherman Oaks built through Bacari, Taisho, Casita, and BLVD Steak is still there. What's landing next to it in 2026 is different in character, and if you live here it's worth understanding the pattern before the openings blur together.

The short version: this year's arrivals lean daytime, grab-and-go, counter service, and experience-driven. Fewer candlelit debuts, more all-day formats. Here's the map of what's already open, what's coming this summer, and what's slated for later in the year.

The 2026 arrivals at a glance

Burger She Wrote 14245 Ventura Blvd Opened spring 2026 Smash-burger counter
HoneyBaked Ham 14427 Ventura Blvd Opened June 22, 2026 Cafe + catering
Industrious 15301 Ventura Blvd Opened April 2026 Coworking
Greco's New York Pizzeria 4319 Woodman Ave Early June 2026 Late-night slice counter

Yama Sushi Marketplace 15300 Ventura Blvd #102G Late summer 2026 Sushi market + bar
Hapa Haus 15301 W. Ventura Blvd (Galleria) Targeting November 2026 Golf-simulator bar

Seven arrivals in roughly nine months. Only one of them is a traditional sit-down dinner concept, and even that one comes with a retail counter attached.

Sushi Row gets a grab-and-go anchor

The most-watched opening is Yama Sushi Marketplace, taking over a roughly 7,200-square-foot space at 15300 Ventura Blvd #102G and targeting a late summer 2026 opening. Yama is not another omakase counter. It's a marketplace. The concept dates back to 1984, when fish broker Kenzo Yamada founded the original market, and today the brand runs stores in San Gabriel, West L.A. and Koreatown.

Two details matter for how it fits the neighborhood. First, the format. Sherman Oaks already has Taisho a few blocks east and dozens of full-service sushi rooms along the corridor. Yama's sashimi trays, bento boxes, and sake retail are built for the customer who wants dinner at home in fifteen minutes, not a two-hour tasting. CEO Scott Kohno said the team has had its eye on the Valley for several years and called Ventura Boulevard "ground zero for sushi in Los Angeles." He told the outlet that Yama hopes to bring a fresh grab-and-go element to the corridor and reach customers who already drive to their West L.A. outpost.

Second, the beverage program. The team also plans to obtain a full liquor license for the location so they can add Japanese whiskey, vodka and gin to their options in addition to sake and beer. Customers can expect to see both nonalcoholic and alcoholic crafted drinks featuring Asian flavors on the menu. That's a bar-plus-market hybrid, and it's a format Ventura Blvd hasn't had.

The daytime side of the boulevard

For years the corridor's daytime foot traffic has run through the Tuesday farmers market at 14006 Riverside Drive in the Westfield Fashion Square lot, plus a scattering of cafes. Two 2026 openings are pulling more weight into the 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. window.

The one drawing the celebrity headlines is HoneyBaked. The duo opened the location on June 22, and it's located at 14427 Ventura Blvd. The interesting piece isn't the ham. It's the catering pitch. For businesses throughout the San Fernando Valley, the location also offers catering packages for office lunches, meetings and workplace celebrations, providing an easy alternative to the usual conference room fare. That pitch lands differently in a neighborhood that just added 22,000 square feet of new coworking supply (more on that below).

The quieter opening is Gloria by La Era. Pastelerías La Era, a bakery in Mexico, is expanding to Los Angeles this year with a new concept. Gloria by La Era will open this summer at 13944 Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks, according to a spokesperson with the company. The space was formerly home to Gracefully Fed, a bakery and cafe that closed last October. La Era has multiple locations throughout Mexico, with 20 spots listed on the brand's Instagram page. If you're used to walking past the boarded Gracefully Fed windows, you can stop wondering. A working bakery is coming back to that address.

Counter service and a late-night slice

Two of this year's arrivals are betting on the exact opposite of a reservation-only night out.

Burger She Wrote opened its second location this spring. The restaurant will open at 14245 Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks, according to a recent post. A representative with the brand told What Now Los Angeles that they are targeting an opening at the end of March. Professional skateboarder Don "Nuge" Nguyen and restaurateur Steven Arroyo founded Burger She Wrote in 2021. The spot offers a simple menu centered around smash burgers made with 100% American Wagyu beef and Kings Hawaiian buns, inspired by the Oklahoma smash burgers of Nguyen's hometown of Oklahoma City.

Then there's the pizza return. Greco's New York Pizzeria is plotting its return to Sherman Oaks, with plans to fire up the ovens at 4319 Woodman Ave as early as June. The new outpost is expected to span about 1,000 square feet, with an open kitchen, counter seating, and late-night hours. It is being driven by the next generation of the family business and marks a Valley comeback after a previous Sherman Oaks location closed. The storefront last housed Santino's NY Pizza, which shut down at the end of March.

If you noticed the Woodman address quietly change hands this spring, that's the reason. Greco's first expanded into Sherman Oaks in 1992 with a shop on Van Nuys Boulevard, and that earlier location closed in 2016. Ten years of absence, and now a 28-inch pie is coming back to a neighborhood that lost its last late-night slice option when Santino's closed.

Experience formats, not just meals

The most format-breaking arrival is Hapa Haus. Hapa Haus will open at the Sherman Oaks Galleria at 15301 W. Ventura Blvd. Owner Alex Miyawaki told What Now Los Angeles that he is aiming for a November opening. Plans filed with the Los Angeles City Planning department indicate that Hapa Haus will occupy 7,983 square feet, with 69 indoor seats and 48 outdoor seats on a 1,526-square-foot covered patio. Miyawaki said the spot will offer a Hawaiian-leaning menu and will feature five golf simulators.

Sherman Oaks already has The City Golf, a nine-simulator practice facility that opened a couple of years ago. Hapa Haus is a different animal. Nearly 8,000 square feet, indoor and outdoor seating, and a bar-forward menu built around five sim bays is a night-out concept, not a lesson space. It slots into the same slice of demand that's driven the Galleria's other 2026 addition.

That other addition is Industrious. Industrious inked a new 22,000-square-foot deal at Douglas Emmett's Sherman Oaks Galleria mall. The property will become Industrious' first location in Sherman Oaks once it opens in April. The space, at 15301 Ventura Boulevard, will span two floors and include 257 dedicated office seats and 50 seats available for on-demand access. Three hundred seats of new coworking supply changes the daytime pattern of the corridor in ways the restaurant openings answer directly. A HoneyBaked catering menu across the street from 257 dedicated desks is not an accident.

What this shift means if you live here

Put the seven arrivals on a weekly clock. Tuesday afternoon still belongs to the farmers market at Fashion Square. Weekday lunches now have Burger She Wrote and, when Yama opens, a sushi counter you can walk out of in ten minutes. Morning pastry runs get Gloria. Late Friday nights get Greco's slice window. A Saturday with visiting family gets Hapa Haus. The office day gets Industrious and a HoneyBaked catering order.

The dinner-row identity isn't going away. Bacari, Taisho, Casita, Boneyard Bistro, On The Thirty, and BLVD Steak are still the reason people drive here. What's changing is the hours around dinner. For most of this corridor's recent history, if you didn't have a reservation you didn't have a reason to be on Ventura Blvd. That's the assumption 2026 is quietly rewriting.

If you're a resident already familiar with these blocks, the practical takeaway is small but real. Save the Woodman address for the late-night slice. Watch the Fashion Square end of Ventura for the Yama opening in late summer. Put Gloria on the Sunday-morning list once the doors are up. And keep an eye on the Galleria; between Industrious upstairs and Hapa Haus coming in November, that corner is doing more work than it has in years.

We track this stuff because neighborhoods are made of these small changes, and the residents who notice them first tend to be the ones we hear from when they eventually think about their next move.
